I love to travel and get out and about - time and finances permitting.  Most of my adventures these days are solo, with a backpack and on a budget - a far cry from the trips of years ago when I  used to  tell myself "money I have got, time I haven't!", as I swanned into some swanky four star plus establishment and ordered myself a tall G&T.

There are many transport choices in Las Vegas, you just need to know where you want to go. If you are reasonably savvy with web applications and WIFI you can save yourself a few dollars, get delivered door to door and enjoy an air conditioned ride in a privately-owned...

We were driving down the road heading back to Anchorage in the RV, affectionately know as our "Wanderly Wagon" when we saw a sign pointing to Lake Louise. We were in Alaska, the 49th State of America so one could have been forgiven initially for thinking somehow we had...

Looking out the window of the hostel lobby in Banff this morning I am having a bit of a chuckle about the events of yesterday. Events that could have had such a different ending but they didn’t, and so I am here, still enjoying my own self-deprecating sense of humour a...

Poor old Viv, I think she got a bit of a shock initially last night we entered the Green Tortise Hostel in Seattle after arriving in about 7.00 pm last night. We have only had a brief overnight stop in the city as it appears you can't fly directly from Anchorage, the 4...

I had the pleasure of meeting Governor Palin this morning in a hardware shop of all places -  I even managed to shake hands.  Willow is a blink if you miss it sort of place, alongside the main highway in Alaska, en-route to Denali National Park. The huge metropolis of...
